October 10, 2008 - Whatwire has completed it's network upgrade.
There were a couple of bumps over the last couple of days, we are finally done.
Thank you all for your patience while working on this long project. All sites are up and running at 100%, and we now have more than enough capacity for all your Internet activities.
Throughout October and November we will be transparently adding more infrastructure to improve upon this foundation even more.

During an early morning maintenance window on Thursday October 9, 2008 we will finish migrating all of our traffic to our new circuits. There will be brief periods of service interruption between 4:00am to 6:00am not expected to last longer than 15 minutes while each network is migrated.
We thank you for your patience while we have been working on this long project, exciting things are coming and this increased network capacity is definately a welcome addition.

September 3, 2008 - Last Friday we finally were able to finish the termination of our new Level 3 Network with an additional 45MB/s capacity.
We are currently waiting for one additional order to be finished up before we can start migrating our traffic to the new circuits and hope to have it done by the end of the week, tested and ready for migrations next week. |
|
July 28, 2008 - Last week we had another trip from Level 3's technicians to install additional equipment in our network operations center.
During a conference call last Friday, we are slated for turn up on August 11, 2008.
This turn up will not be service impacting and will be conducted in the early hours of the morning. |
|
July 9, 2008 - On Wednesday July 3rd, we received our first of many trips from Level 3. They spliced our unused Fiber Optic lines into the Level 3 backbone.
This is encouraging as things should start moving along pretty quickly now. We are excited about doubling our network capacity as it is needed during peak times of the day.
As more progress is made, we will post updates. |

June 21, 2008 - Today we are finishing the permanent Windsor Tower location.
Customers can expect short outages while we are moving equipment around.
We thank you for your patience, the last month definately has been challenging.
As of 10:30am we have finished moving the Ault and Pierce Backhauls, the main backhaul feeding Windsor, moved the 900Mhz Access Points, and are in the process of now moving the 2.4Ghz AP's.
Later this afternoon we will be moving the Backhaul Feeding Johnstown, Johnstown South/Olson and Loveland. |
|
June 16, 2008 - As of Saturday June 14th we have completed the build of the Windsor Tower.
Throughout this week we will start running all the Category 5 cables for the various pieces of equipment that need to be moved from the temporary tower to the permanent tower.
This process will be very contingent upon weather, which has previously slowed us down considerably more than anyone would like.
Our goal is to finalize all the moves next weekend which should bring closure to the rebuild of this site. We will post more as new information is available. |
|
June 13, 2008 - On June 12th we were able to add another 20 feet of tower sections, until the wind halted our operations.
We are shooting for Saturday, weather permitting to finish the last 60 feet roughly of the Windsor tower.
Once the structure is erected and all the guy wires are adjusted, we are hoping to run all of the cables for the equipment at the various heights needed for proper reach to our customers and remote sites.
Sunday will be the day, where our customers in Ault, Pierce, Johnstown/Millken, Loveland, Johnstown South and Windsor can expect sporadic outages while we migrate the equipment from the temporary tower to the new one.
We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause and have devised the most efficient way possible to minimize the downtimes.
We will post more as there are any updates on this project. |
|
June 9, 2008 - Over the weekend we started the erection of the permanent Windsor Tower.
Because of mechanical delays and wind gusts we were only able to erect 100 feet.
On June 12th we are hoping to erect another 30 to 40 feet, finishing up the remainder this upcoming weekend.
Once we can finish the build we will start removing the equipment from the temporary tower and moving it to the permanent one, we will post more after Thursday about the progression. |
|
June 5, 2008 - We received our new 190 foot tower via semi on Tuesday the 3rd.
We have started the slow erection of the base and plan on having it fully erected by the end of the weekend.
If we can move all of the access points this weekend we are going to do that as well.
Unfortunately we do not have any estimates on downtime or when the downtime will be. Please be assured we want to make the transition as smooth as possible and want to minimize any outages.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us. |
